You’ve been working at Maha for some time now, and we’re really excited that you’ve decided to move across with us at Maha East. As Head Chef of our new kitchen, what are you looking forward to most?
Maha has always been good to me, but I’m excited to be able to create something new within the group. Whether that’s food or just a place where customers can have a more personal or unique experience.
We’ve had the whole team putting together their favourite tracks for our playlist. What genres of music or artists will we be hearing from you at Maha East?
Hmm, I’m one of those guys who listens to everything. Most likely you’ll hear some old rock, like The Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. I’m from New Zealand so if Shane allows, maybe some music from there, that would be cool.
If you had to pick just one, what dish do you think everyone must try when they dine at Maha East?
I’m sure I’m meant to say the buns (they’re really tasty), but if I’m going to be honest, the sujuk swordfish sausage is my winner. It has everything you want from a dish, texture, spice and pickle.
Okay, now for some rapid-fire questions! Favourite kitchen equipment or gadget?
Love a Thermomix.
What’s your go-to midnight snack?
BBQ pork wonton soup. If you know KC’s, you will never go back!
What condiment do you always have in your fridge?
Aspirin, Berocca and blue Powerade (yes it has to be blue).
Baked or fried?
Celebrity you would love to cook for?
Let say… Gordon Ramsey. I think he’d give you an honest answer on a meal.
